This depends significantly on the location. We always mention the working hours in our job openings, so you can find them there. In corporate catering settings, you will always work during office hours on weekdays. At the same time, locations like La Place, hospitals or leisure establishments have longer opening hours, so you’ll usually be able to work during the weekends and late at night. Do I need prior experience to work for you?

For most positions, like hospitality worker, enthusiasm, a representative appearance and a motivated attitude matter most. While we certainly value relevant experience, it is not a hard requirement. Job Application Tips & Tricks

How should I prepare for the job interview?

A good start is half the battle, so make sure you go into a job interview prepared. Job interviews are important for the organisation and applicants alike, because they’re a good opportunity to find out whether you are a good fit for the organisation and the position. Here are 5 tips for the best possible preparation.

  • Immerse yourself in the organisation and the location where you will be working. On our website, www.werkenbijvermaat.nl, you’ll find a lot of information about who we are and what we do. During the interview, you can also ask questions about the organisation.
  • Do you have any thoughts or ideas about what the job will be like? It’s best to think about the job in advance, so you’ll know what questions to ask during the job interview.
  • Explore your talents. It’s a notorious question during job interviews: What are your strengths? If you’ve thought about them in advance, you can list them with confidence and give examples.
  • Be yourself! Honesty matters, so if there are parts of the job you think you’ll excel at or need a bit more practice at, let the interviewer know. This will paint a clear, honest picture of who you are as a person and of what we can expect from you. Understanding that you’re not the finished article and still have things to learn isn’t weak, it’s quite the opposite!
  • Think of questions you’d like to ask during or after the interview. These could be questions about Vermaat, the location, the position, or anything else you can think of! Asking questions is a good way to show that you are interested and proactive.

What is the application process like?

If you apply for a position at the serviceoffice, our corporate recruiter Lisa will contact you within 2 to 5 business days. If you apply for another position at one of our many locations, the relevant hospitality manager will contact you within 2 to 5 business days.

If you have applied by email, your details will be sent to the relevant

manager. The rest of the procedure is identical to the online application

process.

I applied but haven't heard back from you yet. What now?

First things first: we’re very happy to hear that you applied for a job with us! We understand that you’re eagerly waiting our reply. The location manager or 1 of our recruiters will contact you within 2 to 5 business days after applying. If we have to process lots of applications, you may have to wait a little longer. If you still haven’t heard from us after 7 business days, please send an email to [email protected]. One of our recruitment officers will contact the location manager to check the status of your application.

I wanted to submit a resume/cover letter, but this wasn’t possible.

For some positions, we do not ask for a resume/cover letter. However, you’re free to share your resume/cover letter if you’d like. Simply send them to [email protected] along with your name and the reference number of the job ad. We’ll make sure it gets to the right manager.

How can I tell whether a job opening is still open?

We keep the website updated as best we can, so you can assume that we are still looking to fill all the job openings posted on the site. Don’t hesitate to apply!
