Your workplace

On the outskirts of Lelystad, right next to the A6 motorway, you'll find Inditex—one of the world’s largest international fashion groups, known for brands such as Zara, Bershka, and Pull&Bear.
Inditex handles the processing of clothing delivered by truck, preparing it for shipment to various stores within and outside the Netherlands. This makes it a unique location where people from all over the world come together to work. The team is diverse and international, and this is also reflected in the restaurant.
At the Vermaat restaurant, international dishes are served to make every employee and guest feel at home. Our restaurant is open daily from 07:00 to 22:00 and welcomes between 500 and 700 guests per day.
You’ll be working in an international environment where English is the primary language, and we work in two different shifts to ensure everything runs smoothly throughout the day.

Your team
The team radiates hospitality and a strong sense of togetherness, creating a pleasant working atmosphere where fun and professionalism go hand in hand. It is a close-knit team of 10 colleagues, driven to work together and give every guest an unforgettable experience.

We also collaborate with local schools, so there is often an intern present who keeps the team sharp with a fresh, young perspective. Social return is well known within Vermaat, and Inditex is no exception.

Your job

You're done with school, but you haven't finished learning. Above all, you want to gain practical experience in a nice kitchen and learn the tricks of the trade from the professionals. We find it important that our apprentices really participate. Instead of standing on the sidelines, they work together with colleagues to create the perfect eating and drinking experience for our guests. During your traineeship, you will discover your talents and learn all the ins and outs of the culinary profession.

  • Commercial skills to buy cost-conscious products.
  • Safety regulations and guidelines on hygiene and working conditions.
     

Your growth

We find it especially important that you grow and get the best out of yourself. Together, we look at what you want to learn and how we can help you do that. Besides good supervision at your work placement company, you can also take a look at other Vermaat catering locations. With around 400 locations, there are enough possibilities and opportunities for you to stay on after your apprenticeship or come back after school.

Your ingredients

  • The kitchen is your domain. You know how to navigate it and collaborate with the head chef and the rest of the kitchen brigade;
  • You have at least 3 years of in leading a kitchen brigade;
  • You have good knowledge of allergies, dietary preferences, food trends, and preparation times, and you know how to apply this knowledge effectively in practice;
  • You have knowledge of regulations in the areas of HACCP, occupational health and safety, and security;
  • You are aware of what is happening in the world of food and drink and enjoy translating developments and innovations into your kitchen;
  • You prefer to work with a lot of freedom and your own input and ideas;
  • You can provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) upon request
