Your workplace

This location at Schiphol Airport is located behind security in Schengen lounge 25 and Intercontinental in lounge 52. In these lounges, our guests can stay, work, relax and enjoy every comfort before flying. In the lounges, guests can make use of several stations and buffets where food and drinks can be obtained. From delicious starters to main courses to a delicious coffee from our barista with patisserie. It's all there! A vibrant and dynamic environment is where you will end up and, together with your colleagues, you will provide the ultimate guest experience! 

Working hours are between 04:30 and 23:00 from Monday to Sunday and for 365 days a year.

Your team

As a valued colleague for the KLM Crown Lounges at Schiphol, you will be working in one of the coolest lounges at the airport. With a smile on your face, you will carry out all common tasks. Together with about 50 other colleagues each day, you ensure a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. With your hospitality, you make sure everyone feels welcome, and before you know it, time just flies by.

Your job

As a Independently working cook chef at KLM Schengen Crown Lounge, Schiphol, you are responsible for preparing dishes, from mise en place to the perfect plating of each dish. You work independently in the kitchen, ensuring that every dish meets our high-quality standards. With your creativity and passion for cooking, you turn every dish into a flavorful experience.

You ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, even during busy moments. Whether it’s preparing à la carte dishes, catering buffets, or creating daily menus, you maintain oversight and work efficiently. Additionally, you contribute to upholding hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen and ensure a clean and organized workspace.

Your ingredients

  • You have completed a culinary education at an MBO level, complemented by at least 2 years of kitchen experience;
  • You actively follow food trends because you have a true passion for your profession and enjoy reading and learning more about delicious and responsible food;
  • You are aware of the latest developments in the food and beverage world and enjoy translating these innovations into your kitchen;
  • You have knowledge of regulations regarding HACCP, health and safety, and workplace safety.
