Your workplace

The Base is a multi tenant location at Schiphol Airport. The Base has an a la carte restaurant and a company restaurant where we serve a varied lunch buffet. Restaurant Viva is open Monday to Friday between 08:00 - 15:00. From Tuesday to Thursday, we serve drinks here until 20:00. On request, we are also open for Dinner/Banqueting. Our company restaurant The Market is open from 11:30 - 14:00 where we serve lunch to around 300 guests every day. In addition, we provide banqueting upon request.  

Your team

The Base's team consists of 10 colleagues and a hospitality manager. Half of them work in the kitchen and the other half take care of service. 

Your job

At Vermaat, you literally and figuratively showcase your recipe. We do not work with standard menu cycles and so you have the freedom to compose the menu yourself. We are happy to give space to your ideas, tastes and recipes. Whether you make a luxury sandwich, a crispy salad, a fresh smoothie or a delicious hot dish. You are bound to make something beautiful and delicious! Every day, you challenge yourself to offer guests variety with creativity, an eye for detail and knowledge of different cuisines. When the head chef is not around, the kitchen still runs like clockwork under your supervision. You are constantly alert to the quality of the products that leave the kitchen.

Your ingredients

  • You have a completed cooking education at MBO level, complemented by at least 2 years of kitchen experience.
  • You actively follow food trends, because you are passionate about your profession and enjoy reading and learning more about delicious and responsible food.
  • You prefer to work with a lot of freedom and your own input and ideas (your personal touch).
  • You know what is going on in the world of food and drink and like to translate developments and innovations to your kitchen.
  • You have knowledge of HACCP, health and safety regulations.
