Your workplace

This location at Schiphol Airport is located behind security in Schengen lounge 25 and Intercontinental in lounge 52. In these lounges, our guests can stay, work, relax and enjoy every comfort before flying. In the lounges, guests can make use of several stations and buffets where food and drinks can be obtained. From delicious starters to main courses to a delicious coffee from our barista with patisserie. It's all there! A vibrant and dynamic environment is where you will end up and, together with your colleagues, you will provide the ultimate guest experience! 

Working hours are between 04:30 and 23:00 from Monday to Sunday and for 365 days a year.

Your team

As a valued colleague for the KLM Crown Lounges at Schiphol, you will be working in one of the coolest lounges at the airport. With a smile on your face, you will carry out all common tasks. Together with about 50 other colleagues each day, you ensure a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. With your hospitality, you make sure everyone feels welcome, and before you know it, time just flies by.

Your job

As Head chef at KLM Non-Schengen Crown Lounge, Schiphol, you are the driving force in the kitchen, ensuring that every meal is a culinary experience. Together with your team, you elevate the kitchen to the next level, ensuring that the quality of the food is always perfect. With your creative input, you curate a changing menu every two weeks that surprises and inspires the taste buds of our guests. You have the freedom to introduce new dishes, keep an eye on trends, and offer a distinctive culinary experience in a unique setting.

A further snapshot of your responsibilities:

  • Leading kitchen operations in three Privium Lounges;
  • Developing creative and innovative menus that are updated every two weeks to meet guest expectations;
  • Motivating, coaching, and guiding the kitchen team to achieve a high level of performance;
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations across all kitchen activities;
  • Collaborating with the management team to achieve operational goals and improve guest satisfaction.

Your ingredients

  • You have a relevant completed culinary education at MBO level and at least 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Creativity and innovation to regularly develop changing menus that exceed our guests' expectations;
  • You have strong management skills and the ability to lead and motivate a close-knit team;
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations (HACCP / allergens);
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • You can demonstrate that you have lived in the Netherlands for at least 8 consecutive years.
