Your workplace

You work in the heart of Amsterdam, where a wide variety of guests drop by. Managing expectations is therefore crucial, but makes the work enormously fun and challenging. In summer, we have a large terrace where guests can order delicious bites and dishes while sipping cocktails. In winter, Rouhi is really a destination for guests and we focus on menus and high quality service and dishes. 
We are in House of Rituals and have an excellent partnership with Rituals. Besides our regular guests, we serve lunch and dinner for guests who have just had a treatment or prepare dinners for 10 to 80 people who have just come from a meeting. So we are at home in all markets. 

Your team

The Rouhi team is a big family, where everyone is heard. We help each other where necessary and do not hesitate to step outside our comfort zone to help colleagues. For instance, the kitchen staff sometimes serves food and the service team helps finish dishes. Nothing is left unsaid and fairness is high on our list of priorities. 

Your job

As a Chef at House of Rituals, Amsterdam, you are an essential part of the kitchen team. You support preparations and basic cooking tasks, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you prepare ingredients and simple dishes, working according to established guidelines. You contribute to maintaining a clean, organized workspace and ensure the quality and presentation of the dishes leaving the kitchen. Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing ingredients, such as chopping, portioning, and organizing mise en place;
  • Assisting in the preparation of basic dishes, including soups, sauces, and simple hot and cold dishes;
  • Ensuring hygiene and safety in the kitchen according to HACCP guidelines;
  • Cleaning and maintaining workspaces, equipment, and tools;
  • Actively contributing to a pleasant and collaborative atmosphere within the kitchen team.

With your eagerness to learn, dedication, and enthusiasm, you help the kitchen team perform at its best. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a professional kitchen and further develop your culinary skills.

Your ingredients

  • You have completed a basic culinary education or have comparable experience;
  • You are motivated to further develop your skills in a professional kitchen;
  • You work neatly and hygienically, adhering to HACCP guidelines;
  • You can work efficiently and remain calm, even during busy periods;
  • You have a flexible attitude and are a true team player.
