The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is an agency of the European Union responsible for the evaluation and supervision of pharmaceutical products. The building is located in Amsterdam’s Zuidas district, in the impressive Vivaldi Building. It is an international workplace where English is the working language and offers a high-end setting with a luxurious look and feel.
The building houses three outlets, including a restaurant, a coffee bar, and the Sky Lounge. The restaurant serves breakfast and a high-quality hot lunch daily to approximately 800 guests. We also provide banqueting services, which can make it quite busy at times. The EMA building is open 24/7, and the kitchen operates from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
You will quickly get to know the guests you welcome on a daily basis, allowing you to respond to their (dietary) preferences and—together with the fantastic team—ensure everyone leaves satisfied. The EMA building is easily accessible by both car and public transport.

As a Chef de partie at EMA, Amsterdam, you literally and figuratively showcase your recipe. At Vermaat, we work with food concepts, which means you work within the frameworks set, but also have the freedom to show your recipes. Every day, you challenge yourself to offer guests variety with creativity, attention to detail, and knowledge of different cuisines. You are constantly vigilant about the quality of the dishes leaving the kitchen. You are also responsible for the administrative part of the kitchen. This includes ensuring HACCP compliance, timely ordering, and accurately mapping allergens.
