Your workplace

The European Medicines Agency is an agency of the European Union in charge of the evaluation and supervision of pharmaceutical products. The building is located on the Zuidas in Amsterdam in the impressive Vivaldi building. It is an international workplace where English is the go-to language. It is a high-end location with a luxurious look and feel. There are 3 outlets in the building, including the restaurant, coffee bar, and the Sky lounge. The restaurant serves breakfast and a luxurious hot lunch for around 800 guests per day. We also take care of the banqueting, so it can be quite busy. The building at EMA is open 24/7 and the kitchen is open between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. 

You will soon get to know the guests you receive every day. This allows you to respond to their (dietary) wishes and, together with the fantastic team, make everyone happy. EMA is easily accessible by car and public transport.

Your job

As a Chef de Partie at EMA, Amsterdam, you literally and figuratively showcase your recipe. At Vermaat, we work with food concepts, which means you work within the frameworks set, but also have the freedom to show your recipes. Every day, you challenge yourself to offer guests variety with creativity, attention to detail, and knowledge of different cuisines. You are constantly vigilant about the quality of the dishes leaving the kitchen. You are also responsible for the administrative part of the kitchen. This includes ensuring HACCP compliance, timely ordering, and accurately mapping allergens.

 

Your ingredients

  • The kitchen is your domain. Over the past few years, you have developed into an independent working chef;
  • You can work independently and take the lead when necessary;
  • Regulations in the areas of HACCP, occupational health and safety hold no secrets for you;
  • You know how to get things done. This means you can keep up the pace during busy times while maintaining high quality;
  • With your creativity, you manage to surprise guests time and again;
  • You can provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) upon request.
