What does the application process look like?
You’ve found a great flexpool vacancy, awesome! We look forward to getting to know you. When you apply through our job listing, you’ll go through the following process:
- Apply through the website: Fill in the application form and submit your CV and cover letter via our website.
- Phone interview: We will contact you by phone for a brief introduction and to answer any questions you may have.
- In-person interview: We’ll schedule a meeting at a location or connect via a video call, where we’ll take the time to discuss your ambitions and preferences.
How will I be supported and developed?
Working in the flexpool means you’re never on your own. We offer you an environment where you can thrive and grow, with tailored support and guidance:
- Personal contact: The flexpool coordinator is always available to answer your questions or offer help and will regularly check in with you to see how you’re doing.
- Onboarding: Through our onboarding program, you’ll get to know what it’s like to work at Vermaat, learn about the different processes and systems, and be guided by a buddy. After finishing the onboarding program, you’ll be ready to work at various locations.
- Vermaat Academy: Develop yourself further through our academy by taking courses such as HACCP training, barista training, or sharpening your product knowledge.
- Growth opportunities: With over 500 locations, there’s always a workplace or position that suits you. If after a while you want to switch roles within Vermaat, we’ll explore the possibilities together.
What kind of contract will I get in the flexpool?
In the flexpool, you can work anywhere from 0 to 38 hours per week. Depending on your preferences, you may work under a zero-hours contract or a fixed-hours contract. There are no mandatory working days, but we do expect a minimum availability of two days per week. You will be offered a one-year contract immediately (with a one-month probation period). After this contract, and with good performance, we will offer you a permanent contract.
What kind of colleagues will I be working with?
You’ll be part of our flexpool, which means the flexpool members will be your regular colleagues. You’ll stay in touch through our group chat and community, and we also see each other often at socials and outings.
You’ll also work closely with your Vermaat colleagues at the various locations. You’ll be warmly welcomed and will definitely find plenty of good vibes and teamwork.
Will I have to travel far for my work in the flexpool?
With the Flexmaat! app, you’re in control of your shifts—you choose where and when you work. Our flexpool is spread across several regions: Amsterdam, Schiphol, Utrecht, Apeldoorn, Zwolle, Rotterdam, and Brabant. Together, we’ll set your maximum travel time so we can schedule accordingly. Don’t mind traveling? Then you can even work in multiple regions for even more variety.
Do I need to meet certain requirements?
At Vermaat, we embrace diversity and inclusivity! Everyone is welcome as long as you have a passion for hospitality, are flexible and stress-resistant, and ready to work hard. Do you already have experience? Fantastic, you’re more than welcome! Are some aspects of the job still new to you or do you have little experience? No worries, you’ll get the hang of it as you go. We’ll work together to find what suits you best!
How flexible is working in the flexpool?
The working hours are super flexible. We offer both part-time and full-time opportunities—morning or evening, weekdays or weekends. You decide where, when, and how often you want to work using our Flexmaat! app. Share your availability, sign up for shifts, and together with our planners, we’ll create a schedule that suits you. This way, you can easily balance your work with your personal life.
